Lora Kusaku
Lora is a junior majoring in biochemistry on the premedical track.
She is excited to help TBR fulfill its goal to help make research more attainable for everyone that wants to start. Her love for research began early on when she took the AP Research class during her senior year of high school. She did a project studying associations between EI, circadian rhythm, and PER3 genotypes among characteristics of high school students. Since starting at Tufts, she has been apart of the McVey lab investigating the mechanism by which a novel bacterium upholds gut microbiome integrity and extends lifespan.
Outside of research, Lora works as a medical assistant and an EMT, and she is a TA in the chemistry department. She also loves ballet, running, and biking!
