Chris Tomo

Chris is a junior double majoring in biology and community health.

He joined TBR as a first-year to find a research shadowing position when labs were closed in 2020. Now as speaker series director, he hopes to bring a diverse set of speakers representing a wide array of biological fields and interests.

Chris is in his second year at the Wolfe Lab, where he studies community dynamics of fermented food microbiomes, focusing on genetic knockouts in coffee spoilage fungi.

In addition to biology, Chris is a passionate community health major, and won the 2022 Tisch Undergraduate Research Award for a paper on childhood asthma prevalence among families living in subsidized housing.
